First application
Begin around 40% bloom—when about 4 out of every 10 blossoms are open.
Follow the steps below to apply and store your pollen properly throughout bloom.
Watch your tree closely as bloom progresses. Warm weather can move bloom along quickly, while cooler weather may spread the bloom stages over several days.
Begin around 40% bloom—when about 4 out of every 10 blossoms are open.
Apply again as more fresh blossoms open across the tree.
A third pass can be made if you want to reach later-opening blossoms.
Apply when blossoms are dry and conditions are calm. Temperatures around 55°F or warmer are ideal. Avoid applying during rain, fog, or while flowers are wet with heavy dew.
Remove the pollen from the freezer and allow it to come to room temperature before opening.
If practical, take a small amount outside and leave the rest frozen. Keeping unused pollen cold and dry helps maintain viability.
Dip the included brush lightly into the pollen, then gently touch the brush to the center of freshly opened flowers. Work your way around the tree, applying pollen in different areas. You do not need to touch every blossom.
Make a second application around 60% bloom. An optional third application can be made around 80% bloom.
After each application, seal the pollen tightly and return it to the freezer.
